Definitions of Words Beginning with "T"

 

though: conjunction. Although; while; despite the fact that. Examples: “Though I know it’s bad for me, I continue to smoke.” “Though I may not win, I’m still going to enter the lottery.”

top: adjective. Describes something that is high in quality, degree or position. Examples: “A top-rated movie is always good to see.” “He’s the top lawyer at the law firm.”

transportation: noun. The way of traveling from one place to another. Examples: “My car is broken so I have to take public transportation.” “In Los Angeles, the transportation system is overcrowded.”

trip: noun. A voyage or journey, often by car, bus, train or airplane. Examples: “I have a business trip next week – I’m going to Singapore.” “We’re out of apples so I’m going to make a trip to the grocery store.”

try: verb. To test out or make a trial of something. Examples: “I’m going to try eating sushi to see if I like it.” “I’m going to try to fix my car so I don’t have to pay a mechanic to do it.”
