rating: noun. The evaluation of quality given to something. Examples: “That school has an excellent academic rating.” “The rating of this brand of toaster is terrible; I’m going to try a different brand.”
recession: noun. A period of reduced economic activity. Examples: “With all these job losses, it’s clear we are in a recession.” “My job is not affected by the recession; no matter how bad the economy gets, I always have work.”
