Over the past couple of decades, the internet has quickly changed the way the world has communicated. From discussion boards found all over the internet to the new wave of VoIP (voice over internet protocol); we have seen a substantial change in the modern way people interact. Communicating over the internet has made it possible to affordably communicate worldwide with the same quality you would expect from your standard phone lines. The internet holds the most of its information in searchable discussion logs and public viewable pages which not only allows you to review previously discussed topics, but the ability to find this information quickly and easily. It also contains more information than any library in the world.

discussion board: compound n. a network or community on the Internet formed by people of common interests in a certain topic. In discussions boards people post questions on a topic; others respond to the question by stating their opinions. Topics are organized into hyperlinks called threads, and people can join any threads on the discussion board by responding to the question asked.
searchable discussion logs: compound n. a community of the Internet supplying a list of choices on topics to choose from and write an article on the chosen topic, allow other people to respond to the article written on the topic.
public viewable pages: compound n. web pages open to public; web pages that public can find on the Internet to look at
review: v. to read, study look at a written material in order to state opinion
VoIP: acronym. Voice over Internet (Internet telephone)
standard phone lines: regular telephone lines, not VoIP
interact: v. to communicate, work with others in a positive manner for a purpose
affordably: adverb of adjective affordable- something you can afford to pay
afford: v. to be able to do something, such as to pay
previously: adverb of adjective previous-before
make a note of something: idiomatic verb-to pay attention to something important to recall later on
