significant: adjective. important

according to: preposition. based on. Example: According to legal authorities he is guilty of lying in the investigation. This means: Legal authorities find him guilty of lying; legal authorities think he is guilty of lying. According to the weather newscast, it will be very hot tomorrow. The weather newscast predicts it will be very hot tomorrow.

by far: adverb. by now. as of now.. Used in a comparison. This company is by far more the more financially sound.

seductive: adjective. to be extremely attractive, alluring

focus: noun in this topic. a point to which we pay attention to. My focus is to earn half a million by Year 2012.

contrast: noun. opposite.

somewhat; little bit, to some degree, in some way

cited: verb in passive voice. It means mentioned as 'the source' or 'the authority'. It is used for formal statements such as in business and research. Example. In this study several examples are cited for the benefits from medical prevention. Three Asia countries are cited for the investment for Research and Development in biotechnology. Three Asia countries' names are given for R&D in biotechnology.

adequate: adjective. enough

predicament. noun. a serious and long standing problem

efficient: adjective. effective and not costly to the business. Efficient suggests performing a task effectively but with very little time and energy. This is an efficient strategy to find a solution to the problem. This sentence means: The strategy is effective yet not costly to the business to solve the problem. Being efficient in business is a must. This sentence means: Efficient people solve problems most effectively using fewer resources as much as possible.

profit: money made out of a business deal

superior; adjective. better in quality or performance than other person, product or idea

return: noun. amount of profit we make out of an investment

primary: adjective. main

expand: to make something bigger. to enlarge, increase. I expand my mind by reading a lot. They have expanded their business into Asia.

trend: noun. a new way people follow in a field, area, business, science. Today's trend in investment is short-term investment.

correspondingly: adverb. identically in all important ways. 

deploy: verb. to provide for business certain things like capital, labor. To have these things ready for use when needed.

broaden: verb. to enlarge, expand

underscore: verb. emphasize

foreign: a different country than our home country; unknown person, people, idea, thing. This idea is totally foreign to me. This sentence means: I don't understand this idea at all.

midsize company: a company with less 10 million dollars investment

large company: a company with more than 10 million dollars investment

tapped. verb. past form of tap. to try. to rely on or use. They tapped different resources to solve their problem.

intellectual property: intellectual work produced by a person or group of people. Example, I have written this novel; it's my intellectual property.

liquidity noun. assets turned into cash in case of bankruptcy or going out of business

emergence: noun. sudden occurrence

entrepreneurial environment. compound noun. Investment friendly environment. For the US, China has become an attractive entrepreneurial environment.

entrepreneurial spirit; compound noun. having entrepreneurial beliefs, mind

diversification: noun. putting money in different types of markets, products, services to help to decrease risk and earn more profit.

industry: one type of business: Example, car industry

comply with: idiomatic verb. to follow the rules given by an authority
